2012 Mayan Prophecy

Onlangs toevallig ergens gelezen dat er gespeculeerd wordt dat het einde van de wereld er volgens de Mayan calendar op 21 december 2012 zit aan te komen. De nieuwsgierigheid in mij dwong we om even verder te googlen :)

Het komt er op neer dat zij (en trouwens niet alleen zij) werkten met een cyclische kalender van +- 26000 jaar, onderverdeeld in 5 periodes ('ages') van +- 5125 jaar, en dat 21 december 2012 net het einde is van een van die periodes. Die jaartelling is net gebaseerd op de astronomie (waar de Maya specialisten in waren), en op 21/12/2012 the Earth's axial tilt will reach it's maximum of 60 degrees in relation to the equatorial plane of the Milky Way galaxy.

Their "prediction" is that each of these ages ends in a certain way. The age we are now in is called the age of the jaguar. When the jaguar dies, it's body will shiver and quake. This would be a reference to the Earth experiencing earthquakes and possibly volcanic activity.

The Mayan were aware of naturally occuring cycles. The age that ended 3114BC was the age of water. Documented evidence does not exist but one could suppose that that may have been the time of the Biblical flood which is also spoken of in many other cultures of the globe. (Misschien ook de reden dat er zo goed als niets qua documentatie te vinden is ouder dan die datum?)

The Mayans prophesied that from 1999 we have 13 years to realize the changes in our conscious attitude to stray from the path of self-destruction and instead move onto a path that opens our consciousness to integrate us with all that exists.

Een andere bron zegt dat elke periode kan onderverdeeld worden in kleinere periodes... 5125 jaar in 10 stukken van 512.5 jaar, dat in 10 stukken van 51.25 jaar, dat in 10 stukken van 5.125 jaar, etc.:
This present 5125-year World Age, like the others before it, can be seen to have four major octaves, each octave being ten times shorter and more condensed than the previous one by a factor of ten. The octave periods are as follows...

5125yrs: 3113BC-2012AD: Mayan 4th World
512.5yrs: 1500-2012AD: The Modern Age
51.25yrs: 1961-2012AD: The Last Generation
5.125yrs: 2007-2012AD: The Pole Shift

Each successive period is ten times shorter, yet ten times more intense. The last 512 years were ten times more intense than the whole 4th World period. The last 51-year End Time period is 100 times more intense than the whole 4th World period and ten times more intense than the whole Modern era of the New World or Americas. The last 5-year period will be 1000 times more intense than the whole 4th World period, 100 times more intense than the Modern era, and 10 times more intense than the Last Generation period. Every 5125-year period intensifies in this manner untill it is ended by a worldwide flood, fire, or other global catastrophe, from which humanity has to start all over again.


Ik ga er niet verder over uitwijden, maar er zijn allerlei verschillende theoriën rond, en soms is dat wel eens interessant om lezen :)
De termen 'apocalypse', 'age of change', 'age of transition', etc. vallen...


Wat er allemaal van waar is zullen we binnen een goeie 3 jaar wel zien zeker :)
